Along side Amy Willoughby (Sapient/Razerfish designer) I worked on numerous websites for Michelin from the Bicycle websites to michelinman.com worldwide, over 9 months.
Working in a "Agile" method, from the very begining, UI, UX, dev and the client, worked together over 4 different countries. This envolved a lot of travel but the experience and methodology it brought was really interesting. Visual designers created responsive components that could be fitted in any order depending on the countries (this concerns over 200 websites). Essentially we weren't creating websites, we were creating a guidebook and toolkit for each country to build the website they needed depending on their different needs. This involved icon creation, component design, typography hierarchy, animation, ... respecting but modernising their famous and settled brand guidelines.
